When it feels like the world is closing in on me,
Gripping my arms,
Choking my neck and
Suffocating me inside a numb cocoon…
I step out of my room
Climb to the terrace
And emerge into the vast horizon Of trees and buildings
Cooing of birds and the giggles of children
Utensils clanking and my dog barking
And then I look up,
To be greeted by a few lonely stars who make me their friend for this moment
I don’t feel alone, but definitely lost
Lost in this precipise between my reality and the vast openness above me.
If only I could step into the blue milky ocean,
But hey…
I’m just an edge away.
